Good Oral Health
You should have good overall oral health before undergoing cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Mormino can first treat any decay or gum disease before moving on to veneer treatment.
Sufficient Tooth Enamel
Dr. Mormino will need to remove a thin layer of surface enamel before placing dental veneers. For this reason, patients need a sufficient amount of tooth structure to support the restorations.
No Bruxism
While porcelain is a very durable restorative material, patients with bruxism, also known as tooth grinding, can fracture their dental veneers. We may recommend an alternative form of treatment, or an oral appliance (such as a mouth guard) to protect the teeth.
The Porcelain Veneers Treatment Process
We can hold veneers to the highest standards at our own on-site dental lab.
Our Office Is Convenient and Efficient...
"Loved the warm and friendly staff! The dentist was excellent. The on site lab made things move along so much more quickly with no extra back and forth. Convenient parking lot and coffee didn't hurt either :)" Lina Marie

Veneers Look Just Like Natural Teeth, Only Better!
How Do I Care for My Veneers?
Practice Good Dental Care
The best way to maintain your cosmetic treatments and the overall health of your smile is to practice good oral hygiene. Brush twice a day and floss daily with a non-abrasive toothpaste. Take extra care around your treated teeth and make sure to attend regular appointments at our Staten Island practice for check-ups and professional cleanings.
Prevent Stains
While your porcelain veneers are stain-resistant, your natural teeth are not. You can prevent discoloration by staying away from foods and drinks that are known to stain the enamel such as sodas, red wines, and coffee. Dr. Mormino can also provide occasional teeth whitening treatments to touch up your smile and remove any color inconsistencies.
Avoid Excess Pressure
Be mindful of the amount of pressure exerted on the teeth to prevent fracturing or dislodging a veneer. While you shouldn't have to alter your diet while wearing veneers, patients should refrain from chewing ice, biting their nails, and opening packages with their teeth.
